Experience and foresight: our Supervisory Board
Since January 1, 2021, Intravacc operates as an independent limited liability company, with the Netherlands government as the sole shareholder. Our Supervisory Board consists of individuals with foresight and significant senior management experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. They oversee Intravacc's evolution into a full-fledged Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization, ensuring professional growth and development.
Nico Oudendijk
Chair
For 20 years, Nico Oudendijk worked at the interface of Youth Care, Psychiatry and Crisis Care, 12 years of which as General Director of the Amsterdam psycho-social and psychiatric institute ‘Triangel’. Since 1991, he has held various positions within government at the Dutch Ministry of Health. These include Director Mental Health Care and Professions, Director of Curative Somatic Care, Director General Public Health, Acting Inspector General at the Health Care Inspectorate (IGZ) and Envoy for the BES Islands (The Caribbean Netherlands). From 2010 to 2012, he was Director of the Netherlands Vaccine Institute (NVI), where he oversaw the sale of its production facilities. From 2013 to 2020, he coordinated the preparations for the privatization of Intravacc.
Bruno Bruins
Bruno Bruins is currently interim Chairman of the Board of HTM, the public transportation company of The Hague. From October 2017 to March 2020, he was Minister for Medical Care and Sport at the Dutch Ministry of Health. Between 2012 and October 2017, he was Chairman of the Board of Dutch National Employee Insurance Agency (UWV) and from 2008 to 2011 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the public transportation company Connexxion Holding N.V. He was also State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science from July 2006 to February 2007. From 2000 to 2006 he served as Alderman of The Hague and, between 2004 and 2006, as Deputy Mayor. His side activities included the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board of the Dutch public broadcasting organization NPO (2016-2017).
Dr. Karin Dorrepaal
Dr. Karin Dorrepaal is an experienced senior manager in the life science and pharmaceutical industry. In 1990, she joined Booz Allen Hamilton, Management Consultants. In 2004, the Supervisory Board of Schering AG appointed her as member of the Board of Management. After the takeover of Schering by Bayer, she left the company in 2006. Since then, she has held various board positions with private and listed companies in Germany, Ireland, Spain and the Netherlands.
Erik Popping, LLM
Secretary
Erik Popping joined Intravacc in January 2016. He has over 15 years of experience within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors as a corporate and legal counsel. Before joining Intravacc, he was Corporate and Legal Counsel at the Hal Allergy Group, and, prior to that, for the Netherlands Vaccine Institute, a predecessor of Intravacc. He holds a Master's degree in Law from Radbound University and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from HAN University of Applied Sciences.
